In my gallery, (which is at the moment called ROCHE gallery, but slowly transforming into a marinakimart gallery), there will be a new display titled “Flame”, starting from Thursday, the 6th of November. The artists who’s work I am exhibiting are:

Searching the web for some poetry on the same subject, I found a very comprehensive sacred poetry site http://www.poetry-chaikhana.com/ . Unexpectedly it bears connection to my birth country in it’s name. The word “chaikhana” means “tearoom” in Uzbek language. It is a place where all the forms of oral culture always were and still are kept alive: poetry, story-telling, stand-up comedy, anecdotes, ballad-songs. And of course, it is especially so in the more rural parts of the region.
In the best traditions of oral culture, I am spreading the word and poetry from the “chaikhana”. Here are some lovely poems on “fire” …
