Life and Art questions are the drives behind creative processes. Sometimes it feels that there are only questions, but where are the answers?
This artwork was inspired by a friend artist, jewellery designer, spiritual seeker and a beautiful woman Jane Runchman. Some ten years ago, she posed for a series of photographs in my studio. Based on the studio photos, I made a set of 3 prints in mezzotint but kept thinking about something more.
I followed Jane's progress on the series of beautiful abstract watercolour pieces titled "Logos" for a while now. That led me to revisit my memories of our studio conversations about life, art, and creativity. Finally, this work came about last summer after a very long gestation period. I named it "Questions". Does it resonate with you?
