Original fine art etching with linocut “Bricks”

Linocut baby playing “Bricks”

When my baby daughter was very young, I sketched her playing with coloured wood shapes. I believe they are called bricks. Those were the days of developing her first dexterity skills.

The cutest of breeds, the French bulldog, was not as ubiquitous back then as it has become in a few recent years and was sure to catch one’s eye.
We had a lovely hot Summer in the South East of England in 2003. That year I often sketched from the window of our art gallery, trying to capture the diversity of Rye’s High Street visitors. One of such quick line drawings depicted a boy with a dog walking along. I felt the image deserved its life to be extended and made into this original drypoint print.
